The Goethe-Zentrum Ahmedabad was inaugurated on the 23rd February 2008 by Mr Stechel, the Consul General of Mumbai Consulate along with Dr. Dreyer, the Director of Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan South Asia. The main aim of the Goethe-Zentrum is promoting the German Language and Culture in Gujarat and Ahmedabad in particular. The Goethe-Zentrum Ahmedabad is managed by a professional team of the Indo-German Language and Cultural Society, under the chairmanship of Mr. Bhanuprasad Patel.
The Goethe-Zentrum, Ahmedabad is managed by Indo-German Language and Cultural Society (IGLCS), a Charitable Trust registered under the Charitable Trust Act.
It is governed by the following Board Members:

The Members meet every 2 months to discuss the progress of the Centre.
The Governing Board meets every alternate month to discuss the progress made by the GZA and any other matter related to it.
The Goethe-Zentrum Ahmedabad is ideally situated in the midst of the Gujarat University, thus providing the students instant connectivity with the other parts of the city.
The Centre is well equipped with modern teaching aides and trained faculty members.
